Albany Motor Yacht Club exists to encourage and foster the pastime of motor cruising on inland waterways and at sea, whilst promoting safety and education through social contact with other like minded people.
We are a small, RYA affiliated, and very friendly club motor cruisers ranging from 25 to 54 foot in length, some but not all are sea going. A number are moored in Shepperton Marina, however others are in local marinas and or on bankside locations in the area.
We meet on the second Monday of every month at the Dittons Skiff & Punting Club in Thames Ditton. Recent events are reviewed and forthcoming events planned. External speakers are invited to some meetings and there are also training opportunities - Prospective members are very welcome to join us, without obligation, as there is always time for socialsing around the bar before and after the formal meeting!
We are also participant members of the Association of Thames Yacht Clubs (ATYC). This represents some 50 yacht clubs from Southend to Lechlade and lobbies on behalf of members with local authorities and government.
And now we start turning our thoughts to 2018 - Get on the water , socialise and enjoy!
We are again proposing an early sumer Cruise down the Thames Estuary to the Medway for the ever popular Rochester Sweeps Festival. Later in the summer we'll be taking an excersion down along the South coast, and maybe across to France! Plus we have a number of trips "Up River" as well as many other social and educational events.
Sound interesting? Then come an join us, expand your enjoyment and make full use of your craft, whatever size, then come and meet with us no obligation. We have members based around Shepperton & Penton Hook marina's - see our contact page for information
