We are a club who honour the traditions, but don't stand on ceremony.

I hope you will see from some of the following that we just like to have fun and enjoy!

Three of our company headed off for a tidal cruise to Limehouse, stopping at Teddington, before catching the tide down.

Weather and spirits were in good form, and finally we're off to a great start to the cruising season in 2018!

We'll update more as the cruise continues......

We were please to be invited, and able to attend, todays Meet the Commodore event at Weybridge Mariners Clubhouse.

A very well attended event, supported by many other local clubs. In total some 50 plus guests, and WMC members enjoyed a fabulous spread laid on by the club. Attendees from Albany were; Tracie Critchell (Vice Commodore), Nick Critchell (Treasurer), Colin Lenthall and wife Jenny.

Fortunately for us, and several others, the river has abated somewhat and so we were able to take advantage of the WMC ferry 'What Kont' to get cross from the Weybridge side!

As is tradition we hold our fitting out picnic at Shepperton Marina in April, but given the climatic variations [Rain, snow, wind, etc....] we've seen these past few weeks and months, we were all holding our breath for a break - and boy were we blessed, with probably the best day of the year so far!

Everyone brought food to create a fantastic buffet, and of course we washed that down with some suitable beverages....

We played a few games, and were entertained by Maurice and Ann's granchildren, who sought to get some of us to join them with the skipping ropes - and some of our members showed and unexpected flair!

Before the sun went down we had tea and cakes put ourselves through the tensions of a Grand National 'Sweepstake' with David [Tiger Roll] winning by a head from Don [Pleasant Company] and Margret [Bless the Wings] coming in in third place.

Following the usual business of our monthly meeting we had a first aid refresher, kindly led by David Gilbert our resident paramedic.

As well as a good discussion on the most common injuries, we were encouraged to practice some of what we'd discussed.....

As the pictures might suggest a good deal of fun was had in the process!

While there were winners, there has to be those who didn't quite make the grade...

Not a wooden spoon, but a bottle of water..
